Remote Access Proofing

Remote Access is a Bidirectional Web Gateway Between our Clients' Desktops and Crown Prepress Production
Remote Access adds secure multifunctional web workflow and automation capabilities to Crown's prepress workflow. This is done by providing fast file uploads and downloads to and from Crown's Printready System, and automated web-based remote soft proofing, correction and approval workflows. Both Crown Printers and their clients can benefit from shorter lead times and shorter deadlines. Courier and material costs are reduced significantly, and the improved mutual communication via one central, easy to manage portal helps to reduce errors.

Web-Based Remote Soft Proofing and Approval Workflows
Once pages, imposed flats or reader's spreads are ready to be approved by the clients, the job is automatically set on hold, and the client is informed via e-mail that a proof is ready to review. Since these e-mails contain web links to the job components to be approved, it takes the client just a few clicks to login and review them. At the end of an approval session, approvals and annotations are automatically fed back to the Printready System where staff is immediately informed.

Remote Access offers both a PDF (pre-RIP) based approval mode in which the client may use all of Adobe Acrobat's commenting features, and a pixel-based (post-RIP) approval mode which enables fast remote viewing, navigation, zooming and color measurements on pixel files. These files are ripped by Meta Dimension even if there is no broad bandwidth available. Also, soft proofing and approval sessions on pixel data can be performed with multiple web participants.
